Tank Sounding

Features

XTronica offers a flexible solution to level sounding in ballast and service tanks as well as draft measurements onboard ships. The system is based on various types of pressure transmitters specially adapted to type of fluid and installation on the tank.
Other type of sensors can be handed by the system i.e. temperature sensors, tank pressure sensors, inclinometer for trim, list or sensors for draft gauging (calculated trim) and inclinometer for list.
The system operates as stand-alone level gauging with local user interface. If not connected to a automation system the system can be programmed with level alarms.
The system can be installed as a centralised system, where the process unit and I/O modules are installed in a centralised cabinet or as a fully distributed system where the I/O modules are installed in suitable locations according to the tank location. Communication between the distributed units and the main process unit is based upon Local Area Network (LAN). Benefit of using a distributed system is savings of cable and installation costs.

- Modular design
The system can easily be extended to handle inputs from other measuring points i.e. temperature and/or pressure sensors and level switches. With its modular design the system is easily adapted to handle required numbers of tanks or inputs in a cost effective manner. This makes the system well suited also for retrofit installation.

- Pressure sensor calibration
The operator can calibrate the connected pressure sensor zero-point from the HMI.
