Tank Temperature Alarm

Features

XTronica offers a flexible solution to tank temperature monitoring onboard ships. The system is complying with USCG requirements Part 153.438 “Ships carrying bulk liquid”. The requirement for the system requires 2 pcs. temperature sensor in each tank and the sensors/system shall be independent of any other temperature measuring system. With its modular design the system is easily adapted to handle required numbers of measuring points. This makes the system well suited also for retrofit installation.

- System Fuctionality
The system is modular built up with I/O modules according to signals from the sensors, i.e. 4-20mA, 0-10V, digital I/O’s and communication modules. A CPU/PLC with system program and required I/O’s for handling the sensors in the system is mounted in the cabinet, or if the system is distributed the CPU and communication modules is mounted in a “main” cabinet and a controller with required I/O’s is mounted in distributed cabinets.
If there is only one operator panel in the system it can be connected directly to the PLC. If several operator panels is to be used an ethernet switch must be used to distribute the communication. At long distances (< 70 m) two ethernet bridges is used to convert the ethernet to SHDSL to ensure signal quality over long distances (up to 1000 m). The SHDSL requires 1 pair twisted cable.
